Play days in Surrey
So when we’ve just got back from a summer holiday but there is still plenty of time left before some sense of normality kicks in, i.e. the children return to school and the elder siblings head to university; what is there to do and what offers are there out there?
We tend to get away quite a bit due to my husbands brilliant and patient use of the net. I get bored when I can’t find exactly what I’m looking for, but he seems to fit all the pieces together beautifully resulting in some great trips. But if like me, you run out of steam then try LateLettings.com Holiday property owners list their empty weeks on there with good discounts up for grabs, sometimes up to 70% off & it’s now added overseas accommodation too. Although I’ve always found the west country perfect for a family and friends “top up” trips, when Gatwick or Heathrow are just too much to handle. If you don’t fancy driving then try Red Spotted Hanky, if you book your train ticket in advance you can save over 50% on the cost, which when there is a family it can be a decent enough saving to have a nice bite out!
For those of us lucky enough to have a fabulously fun interior designed playroom, invite friends over for a play day with a twist, with wipe clean “write on walls”, chalk boards and a serious artwork station & cookery corner; the only thing missing is a little imagination and if the weather is sunny, the bean bags can go outside too!
For the grown ups after a play day, you might like to slide out for a meal so look at Bookatable.com/uk apparently with some great savings on the more expensive restaurants…
So what ever you are up to over the next few weeks, be sure to look up some of the sites and enjoy what’s on offer.
