The wonderfully glamorous entrance in this Mayfair apartment was created when I carved a coffered ceiling over the central table, laid a floor of pure marble and reflected the Baroque drawing room in the antique mirror, flanked by Empire lamps.

This entrance set in Clare Hill Esher was part of a complete remodelling of a thatched house Whilst the double doors and oak floors were solid, as indeed were the flagstones, the handrail was the delightful work of a trompe l�oeil artist. Whilst this design was completed almost 10 years ago, the faux Ashlar block painted walls look as good today and as timeless as ever. My client gave me a little artistic licence and the devilish mouse was created over the doorway, no doubt en route to the cheese upon the table.

A wonderfully challenging project as the listed building was subject to a protected interior, I introduced a little contemporary twist with the use of duck egg blue and taupe, whilst keeping the accessories rather more traditional, achieving a balanced and appropriate interior for the client�s new home.

This Guest bedroom was one of many for this Period property in exclusive Esher in Surrey. This contemporary yet classical interior designed bathroom was remodelled in the spring of 2000 and yet remains a favourite among many clients and potential clients alike. It is balanced footprint, allowing the beautiful symmetry of the design to be fully appreciated. The ladies and gentlemen�s vanity units are over 4 metres either side, allowing ample storage with a mixture of drawer and cupboard space, which leads effortlessly into the walk in dressing rooms. The painted timber frames facilitates a seamless length of cr�me corian with underslung porcelain basins and traditional cross head monobloc taps by Lefroy Brookes. This exquisite and romantically inspired bathroom design was extremely successful. The client's property, a lavish Edwardian house situated high in the Surrey Hills, was worthy of the generous budget assigned to the project. The chocolate ceramic wall tiles interspersed with polished chrome strip looked striking against the contrasting white enamel of the modern free-standing bath and floor-mounted 'Waterfall' tap. The bath was illuminated from beneath by floor lights to set the atmosphere in the evenings.

We wanted to create something entirely appropriate to his sophisticated and elegant lifestyle. This Master Bedroom was equipped with en-suite, steam room and separate dressing room. The Vermicelli quilting bedcover in Manuel Canovas silk was custom-made to fit the King-size Vi-Spring bed. The walls were adorned with a large damask print wallpaper by Osborne & Little.

Innovative design was definitely required! With a chimney stack situated bang in the middle of the attic a double aspect fire was created and a delightful & practical study for the children developed around it, blue tooth technology allowed a cable free environment, with an integrated LCD when the homework was complete.

The �boys' room� was created by remodelling both the architecture and interior design elements, housing the audio visual equipment, warming the room and ensuring the bar was both contemporary and practical, especially when the pool table was some 7metres away!

The orangery was built a new kitchen installed and a breakfast table for eight sat comfortably between the two areas. The kitchen furniture extended into the orangery bringing harmony and fluidity to the whole scheme, being south facing the sunshine flooded the entire area, resulting in a stunning living space for the family

We wanted to create something entirely appropriate to his sophisticated and elegant lifestyle. The client left us with a set of valuable watercolour paintings by artist Henry Small, and asked if we would incorporate them into the scheme for the drawing room. The Clients love of Oriental food inspired this table setting. The ebony-look chopsticks and in vogue square plates and bowls were carefully placed, accentuating the linear lines of the table. The green glassware was added to reflect the design's colour scheme.

Two Porta Romana sideboards with chrome ring handles were chosen to match the bespoke dining table. The chairs were also bespoke and covered in a Baker fabric complementing the deep Walnut finish. Chrome accessories, Nickel lamp bases and large bevelled edged mirrors were incorporated into the scheme.

This large dining room allowed enough space for a 10-person besoke dining table with astez pedestal and mirrored centre. The chairs were also bespoke and covered in a Baker fabric complementing the deep Walnut finish. The proportions of the room also enabled us to incorporate bold designer wallpaper by Zoffany. The floor-to-ceiling windows were given shutters as opposed to curtains, offering a clean crisp look whilst helping to diffuse the natural daylight. The tablescape was put together using carefully selected Villeroy & Boch porcelain and Conran glassware. The central flower display injected a hint of drama, capturing the essence of the scheme.

This TV room was fitted with a state of the art audio visual system from Bang & Olufsen. The box-framed black and white prints of classical fremale actresses adds a refreshing twist to the typical style of a home cinema. The polished red coffee table is accentuated by the cushions on the Andrew Martin nubuck suede modular sofa, perfect for lounging on and watching a movie.

This first floor room with architectural detailing lent itself perfectly to the inclusion of a small library and study. Our Client's main study was on the ground floor; however this smaller room allowed him to store his many precious books. The writing desk sat beautifully in front of the arched window and looked out over the sweeping driveway. The symmetry of the room enhanced the peace and stillness of the intimate area offering those who wished, the perfect place to sit and read of quietly contemplate.

This Guest bedroom was one of many for this Period property in exclusive Esher in Surrey. The sloping ceiling and intimate proportions, made the room feel cosy and welcoming to its visitors. Feminine hues of cream and Duck Egg blue and a mixture of fabrics were used to add warmth and depth to the otherwise understated design. The half tester above the bed envelops the headboard and pillows like curtaining. The painted bedside tables, crystal lamps and dainty French chair all help characterise the elegant design.

A striking mannequin is playfully used to display ethnically inspired pieces of jewellery and adornment, collected by the client on her worldwide travels. Resting alongside is a bespoke armoire which was purposefully customised by April Hamilton's Senior designer to house the TV and provide that 'ever sought after' extra storage.

Soft lines, symmetry, warm tones and sumptuous fabrics helped to create this beautiful Master Bedroom. The ornate plasterwork draws the eye up to display the generous height of the room and the grand window breathes in light, naturally illuminating the decor. In addition, Porta Romana crystal rock lamps stand on either bedside table. The fabric used for the bedcover was quilted to add body and a luxuriously plump texture, using a computer driven quilting system.

The client's personal treasures have been sympathetically intigrated into the scheme. This urn was bought during a trip to New Zealand and was handcrafted from the wood of the Macrocarpa tree. This exquisite and romantically inspired bathroom design was extremely successful. The client's property, a lavish Edwardian house situated high in the Surrey Hills, was worthy of the generous budget assigned to the project. The chocolate ceramic wall tiles interspersed with polished chrome strip looked striking against the contrasting white enamel of the modern suite and dark wooden vanity unit. The room was effectively accessorised with chrome brassware, glass lanterns, white coral and red roses.

The Old Rectory was remodelled in 2003. My client wanted to keep most elements of the house, as it dated back to the mid 16th century and is reported to be the second oldest house in Richmond. The bathroom as you see it now was originally a bedroom, which was later converted to a utilitarian bathroom in avocado. Not exactly an interior designer's dream...

We had brought the mirror from a previous property that I had designed and used as the inspiration for the new scheme. I wanted to create a luxurious contemporary bathroom within this listed building, which meant incorporating the panelled walls, one of which I used to house a wet screen - a relatively new option, along with the LEDS in the floor. These are entirely safe, cool to touch and with a lovely warm glow, bringing a relaxed ambience to bathing.

The marble tiles - a special order - were set diagonally and laid on underfloor heating. Both the vanity unit and wardrobes were timber with painted frames and mirrored back panels, and the same marble as the floor tiles was used on the counter top.

I couldn't resist the contemporary candle scones - candlelight is positively magical and in perfect harmony with the integrated B&O system that filtered through the entire house.

Individual Hydrangea stems in mirrored globe vases adorned each place setting, along with taupe napkins, silver rimmed porcelain and purple glassware. On the walls were limited edition prints in bronzed mirrored frames, illuminated either side by statuesque nickel table lamps.
