Back to school25 August 2018
It’s almost that time of year, when the summer is nearly over and we are preparing to “restart” the year, or to be more precise a new term, so when it coincides with a new project the energy is especially good –
This is the start of a lovely new project with the living space brief “to bring calmness and peace” , so with that in mind, I turned to the pale and interesting and of course current trends, which for anyone interested in either fashion or interiors would immediately think of blues and pinks and whilst I love to embrace all things new, my signature has always been timeless
Using the soft blue patterned velvet for the ottoman will ground the scheme in a soft natural way, whilst the frost coloured mixed linen will stand the test of time on the more expensive pieces, such as the new contemporary sofas, piping them in crème linen supports the link to the tailored crème curtains and as it’s a formal living space I have chosen fabrics in addition to shutters to add depth and sophistication to the scheme… as always it will be supported by Little green paint in slaked lime
The pop of colour will be introduced from Designers guild pale and raspberry pink linen cushions with a twist on the desk top, which will be ice pink, which I just couldn’t resist!
And how did this design start?
From “the island” my second home in Majorca where I found the delicious cushion covers in the faded scrolled designs, which simply gave the me the inspiration I needed…
Have a wonderful bank holiday & thank you for reading
