... is like looking through the eyes to the soul.

Luxury interior design is indeed a pleasure.  Crafting beauty from materials, fabrics and texture, and yet incorporating form, function and practicality, is always challenging, as we are so spoilt by the plethora of options from which to choose ...

This particular interior comes from the magical island of Majorca, a personal favourite of mine - serene, spiritual, unspoilt and unpretentious - a perfect combination and a perfect foil against which to create that "luxury beach house" style ...

Using an old favourite from The Little Greene Paint Company to bring the shutters right on trend without detracting from the delectable Majorcan stone, but enchanting the subtle greys within the walls, acted as a precursor to what lay ahead ...

The flooring, whilst inanimate, almost felt alive ... presenting the perfect canvas in which to design.  Blending the greys and golds was pure bliss, from hand-painted cushions, mixed linens, studs of subtle faded golds and rich vibrant bronzed metalwork, all anchored by the powerful masculine presence of the black granite table top and sphere of Italian lighting.

Accessorising is so sadly overlooked, but positively essential to complete a professional interior by blending all the elements of design together to culminate in creating the perfect harmony ... and how could anyone with a passion for interiors fail to love the gold leaf platter?

Or the perennial white oversized orchids dancing between the contemporary wing chairs?

Eclectic interiors are difficult to balance for the inexperienced designer - it truly takes many years or, for the lucky few, a God-given talent to get the mix "just right" - but I feel this entrance achieved just that: a contemporary yet classical design that will please the eye of the most discerning for many years to come ...
