Throwing a light on Decorex 2019
11 October 2019Throwing a light on Decorex 2019 as it comes to a close…

The April Hamilton team loved the show this year, we found it both inspiring and well catered for, which makes a very welcome change from previous events
Some of the highlights
For newcomers to the industry, take a look at Warwick, they are one of the most diverse fabric houses in the industry with an attractive price point, good stock availability and a general understanding of the work we luxury interior designers do
Robert Langford produced the most comfortable feather filled sofa especially for the show and it’s definitely worth checking out, he has worked collaboratively with Thaibut, which has produced stunning results and is one of my all-time favourites. With an outstanding collection of patterns, plains and exciting designs, they are worth considering for most sectors whilst they aren’t inexpensive, they can be used for a feature wall or cushions within the show house market for example
The dining chair company produced a really pretty armchair, with a vibrant fabric on the exterior and a muted chenille within the seated interior, bringing the whole piece together with a delicious trim, it really was a delight and would love the opportunity to incorporate it within one of our luxury interior designed schemes.

The Trowbridge collection was consistent as ever, with interesting pieces, beautifully presented with their bespoke frames and linen slips, it was great to see their new collection and touch base with them all
The main purpose behind the visit this year was because of our collaboration with Alexander Joseph, a high end cordless lighting company. We developed a floor lamp called Capricorn and the inspiration behind it was Sandbanks and the beauty it evokes… the blue skies and seas so it seemed an appropriate avenue of design, to include the hand dipped silk tassel, hand blown orb and silk shade in the same hues that originally inspired me!
Although it’s not the first time we have developed or designed lighting especially for a project, the image at the beginning of the blog, shows a Bocci design cascading down the stairs of our London Luxe project, this was exclusively designed by us- April Hamilton luxury interior designers
