Feeding the family

Lots of consideration was given to our blog this week, as it’s increasingly difficult not to mention C-19. But I’m determined to give it as little attention as possible, whilst acknowledging the massive negative impact to humanity- it’s wonderful to also acknowledge all the kindness it has brought out…

On a business note…

Our industry is no different, I’ve included some links in this blog that I hope you will find useful. When designers and architects are finding it challenging to keep momentum and spirits high, there is always somewhere more positive we can turn our intention to. You might like to take a look at the ReCovidNow now website, it’s a first aid kit for helping our businesses recover with a no nonsense approach and has clear and concise information you may find informative and helpful.

I’m sure we are all familiar with the help the Government is offering, but just in case you are unsure of what you can claim, you might like to read on…

The Government want to help you get ready to make a claim under the Coronavirus Job Retention Scheme.

If you’re eligible for the scheme, there are things that you can do now to be ready when the system is up and running later this month.

You’ll need to provide the following to make a claim:

  1. The bank account number and sort code you’d like us to use when we pay your claim.
  2. The name and phone number of the person in your business for us to call with any questions.
  3. Your Self-Assessment UTR (Unique Tax Reference), Company UTR or CRN (Company Registration Number).
  4. The name, employee number and National Insurance number for each of your furloughed employees.
  5. The total amount being claimed for all employees and the total furlough period.

If you use an agent who is authorised to act for you for PAYE purposes, they will be able to make a claim on your behalf, so please speak to them now.

However, if you use a file-only agent (files your RTI return but doesn’t act for you in other matters), they won’t be able to make a claim for you and you’ll need the information listed above from them to make the claim yourself.

Now for something a little more light and bright… Feeding the family

Our family have thought more outside the box in obtaining the food we need, rather than adding to the ques at the supermarkets, although we can’t avoid them all the time, the delivery slots become available sufficiently for us to manage…

If you haven’t tried COOK before, you may want to include these in your food toolkit. Along with Farms 2 Fork who given 72 hours’ notice, will deliver a huge selection of delicious fresh food directly from the farm. There is also the local Milk & More too and let’s not forget it’s actually Easter!

So finishing on a lighter note, we hope you enjoy our Instagram video, showing some of the fun we have had designing children’s’ bedrooms and playrooms and remember to cherish them in these difficult times, as they are probably wobbling too…

If you have enjoyed reading and found the information useful please share with others.
