How to Create luxurious and Relaxing Bedrooms for Your Home, Family and Guests

With a studio based in Cobham, Elmbridge, and working across the UK, Rosemary Ridgway and Charlotte Small understand how to creatively bring their clients dreams and lifestyle aspirations to life.

A well-designed home not only enhances the aesthetic appeal and experience for your family and guests but ensuring refurbishments have been properly executed with trusted builders, decorators, and craftspeople, are vital for future-proofing resale value.

Luxury Master Bedroom Design

Bespoke Bedroom Design

Our April Hamilton team complete different scaled projects throughout a year, starting from a few principle rooms reaching a minimum spend, to full-house refurbishments.

Our interior design schemes include luxury bedroom designs, reception rooms, entrance halls, dining areas and cinema rooms. Together we work tirelessly to ensure the finest finishes with bespoke fitted joinery, exquisite storage and high-quality textiles to create a real wow factor home.

Interior Design and procurement services are inclusive of all meetings, design time, planning, estimating, liaising with trades, site visits and include the installation in connection with the interior scheme.

We work from the platform of providing a full high end interior design package – from the initial brief and concept to full installation, ensuring all aspects of the design are fully integrated.

Wellness, Sleep and Relaxation

Relieve everyday stress through the creation of relaxing bedroom havens, with wellness and relaxation principles at the heart of an interior design scheme. We recommend decluttering with smart storage options, add black-out-blinds to aid a perfect night’s sleep and invest in the right bed to suit your needs.

Master Bedroom Design

Comfort is always key and creating a serene, calm, luxurious environment for a Master Bedroom is of paramount importance.

Charlotte commented “It’s good to prioritise lighting with dimmable fixtures, blackout window treatments, and varied light sources to create the perfect ambiance. Ample storage solutions are essential for maintaining a clutter-free space, promoting relaxation and tranquillity.  Adding faux flowers and personal photo frames can enhance the room’s charm and provide a personalised touch.

Guest Bedroom Design

Make sure you have a comfortable bed, with a high-quality mattress, bedside lights, plush pillows and high thread count sheets. We recommend providing additional blankets and making sure there’s guest towels.

Again, ample storage, such as a chest of drawers and wardrobe space with hangers, this keeps the room tidy and allows guests to unpack. Add personal touches like fresh flowers, a selection of books or magazines to allow for the creation of a mindful space.

Choose a calming colour scheme and incorporate special artwork or decor to give the room a unique feel.

Spacious Guest Bedroom Design

Designing En-suite Bathrooms

Available space to design an ensuite bathroom, can vary dramatically, from large luxurious bathroom areas to smaller shared guest spaces. Nonetheless, you can maximise character and charm through smaller detail finishes.

Provide a designated space for toiletries, such as drawers in the vanity unit, and include an illuminated shower niche for a touch of elegance and convenience. Corner shower enclosures, walk ins, wall-hung toilets and towel rails, all provide further space-saving solutions.

To complete, thoughtful details including incorporating candles and diffusers to provide a relaxing ambiance and pleasant scents for wellness, help to create a relaxing aesthetic.

Ensure there’s plenty of clean, rotatable towels and stock the room with high-quality hand soap and moisturiser, we love Aesop, The White Company and Jo Malone

Children’s Bedroom Design

Imaginations can really run wild when it comes to children’s bedroom design. From colourful botanical and safari themes, to slides, bunkbeds, desks and playhouses, fun and creativity should always reign supreme.

Charlotte commented “Some of our favourite rooms to design are children’s bedrooms. We prioritise leaving ample floor space for play and those inevitable toy explosions, if possible, while also ensuring there’s plenty of storage for toys, books, and stuffed animals”

Incorporating fun wallpaper and a versatile colour scheme that can grow and adapt with the child as they age is essential for a room that remains functional and enjoyable over the years.
