This is a combination of 2 projects. The living & dining room, kitchen and conservatory was part of the Cobham house, the bedrooms and bathrooms belong to a listed building.
The brief was to provide a soulful interior designed living room, a delicious dining room and a sumptuous luxury bedroom, so with that in mind we began the design process, which included some of the existing clients pieces, such as the coffee table and accessories.
Whilst the rooms were lovely and large, they needed a more homely feel, especially with tiled floors, so we fitted Jacaranda carpets in the living and dining room and made a bespoke rugs for the conservatory which completely changed the acoustic and feel of the rooms.
We designed a luxury bespoke dark wood table with an inset polished chrome band which added interest and provided the appearance of a smaller table... as this piece was 2.2 metres in diameter to enable 10 guests to sit comfortably.
We also specified the bespoke sideboard in the same finish with polished chrome handles to bring this room together... Our favourite art gallery Trowbridge in the King's Road, London, provided the dark sexy artwork to give the dining room atmosphere. The bespoke silk velvet dining chairs with studding have truly stood the test of time and have been a firm favourite with many of our clients.
With the second project being a listed building, we remodeled the entire house. The master bedroom with an en suite was only a small part of this luxury project and remains to be one of our all time favourites.
The bed was a low level designer frame, but we built a contemporary four poster to enhance its position in the room as the ceilings were over 3m in height and it gave it the elevation it deserved.
Everything was bespoke and designed by April Hamilton interiors including the new en suite bathroom - a brave and successful luxury interior design story.
