A well known developer wanted us to create a cinema room and go from there. His response when we finished was: You did a fantastic job – now carry on… and so we did!
We saw the pony skin tables at Decorex and were excited when we got to use them, we included them within the cinema room, which set the tone for the rest of the house. We continued to move through the property room by room. One of these rooms was a gorgeous conservatory adjacent to the swimming pool. Our client had it built in the style of a barn, something that oozed sophistication and style.
This presented me with the opportunity to team up with Gloster Luxury Furniture. Whilst conservatories are lovely, working with sunlight is something of a challenge, so we found the perfect solution with solar controlled shutters for the roof. These are not only aesthetically pleasing, but solved the problem of excessive sunlight.
The entrance to this property was a favourite for us as it was under utilised and rather impractical. We created bespoke storage and gave the space a sense of restfulness with bespoke studded chairs and reindeer skins.
For lighting we actually used stone balustrades imported from France and made them into working lamps. It’s something we all loved and will probably never have the chance to replicate, they really are utterly unique! The same rule applied to the coffee table in the TV room, (where the family dog resides). Only 4 of these were made, so we took one for this project and found it fitted perfectly.
We have a wonderful nucleus of suppliers and there was a great need for fabrics on this project which included O&L, Designers guild, Andrew Martin, Romo, Bakers, Zoffany, Sanderson, today’s interiors to name but a few.
