This project has to be one of our favourites and a lesson to both the team at April Hamilton interiors and past and potential clients, as this really stayed as near to our vision as is possible in the world of Luxury interior design.
Whilst we listen very carefully to the clients brief, we have 25 years of experience of remodelling large and listed buildings… so providing your design team can substantiate their design path and explain their rationale, my advice as a seasoned designer is to trust them!
The results will speak for themselves as they did on this London project. The VIP clients wanted a family home but with an air of sophistication and plenty of space for their many friends and family to be able to stay and enjoy. Many of the items of furniture are bespoke and designed by April Hamilton interiors with a specially commissioned piece from Bocci lighting at the lighting Foundry.
We cascaded LED ice globes down four flights of stairs to give a sense of play to the otherwise super sophisticated integrated lighting system. Our lighting on this project was supported by Porta Romana, Vaughans and Andrew Martin which were strategically positioned within our bespoke joinery pieces.
Flooring is huge part of interior design and we used an engineered polished American oak to support the bespoke Jacaranda rugs that had soft leather and suede trims.
To keep things interesting we used a hand made rug for the playroom from Alternative flooring, which was fun, bright and anchored the scheme. We had a hand painted bar-code on the wall and the great fun of the bubble chair which offered endless hours of “hanging about” for the children and their friends.
My personal favourite was the lovely Paddington bear painted on their daughters bedroom wall – a real treat for both the interior designers and their daughter…
