This lovely house was nestled within a picturesque village near Guildford, with gorgeous views and huge picture windows, it was an exciting project. April Hamilton was asked to create a formal yet relaxed living space for the grownups to enjoy…
Their brief was to include a chandelier, colour, pattern and an overwhelming sense of luxury, which is something we are familiar with. One of our favourite cream rugs from Jacaranda set the scene on newly polished wooden flooring; with a little rewiring we were able to layer the lighting with the wall lights & lamps in addition to the feature chandelier.
Lighting has finally been recognised as one of the most important elements of design both for interiors and exteriors.. it can bring a dead space to life, denote key areas and set the mood like no other medium.
This particular project really warranted the layering too, as the ceiling was nearly four metres in height! The fabrics were a combination of soft velvet's and silks to give it a classical yet contemporary appearance. Our bespoke AH buttoned chairs remain popular as they are so aesthetically pleasing and extremely comfortable, especially with the fabric from the AH private collection.
As with many of our interiors, whilst we source from global brands, the pieces used here were bespoke, with inset polished brass features on both the console and sideboard, creating that cohesive overtone. The Alexander Joseph table lamps also featured within this interior which marked the beginning of our collaboration together.
