This lovely house is nestled within a picturesque village near Godalming, Surrey with gorgeous views framed by vast picture windows. The brief was to include a chandelier, colour, pattern, and an overwhelming sense of luxury (something we are familiar with!).
With a little rewiring we were able to layer the lighting with the wall lights & lamps in addition to the feature chandelier. Lighting has finally been recognised as one of the most important elements of design both for interiors and exteriors. It can bring dead space to life, denote key areas, and control mood in a way no other medium can.
This project warranted much layering, with a ceiling nearly four metres in height! The fabrics were a combination of soft velvet’s and silks, giving it a classical yet contemporary look. We chose one of our favourite cream rugs from Jacaranda to set the scene on newly polished wooden flooring. Whilst our bespoke April Hamilton buttoned chairs completed the scene. Out AH chairs are incredibly popular. Aesthetically pleasing and extremely comfortable, using specially chosen fabrics from the AH private collection.
We source widely from global brands, yet many of our pieces are bespoke creations. On this project we used inset polished brass features on both the console and sideboard to deliver that reassuringly cohesive overtone. Finally, Alexander Joseph table lamps to mark the beginning of our collaboration together. This was an exciting project bringing together a wide range of interior design techniques.
Our focus was on luxury and craftsmanship, all of which enabled us to deliver a formal yet relaxed living space for grownups to enjoy.
